the glamour experiment

editorial spread

People are in love with the idea of Fashion Week. “It’s so glamorous,” they claim. However at some point, on the 16th hour of the 3rd day, after the 29th catwalk show, it hits: Glamour is the first casualty of fashion insight, a luxury enjoyed only by those on the outside, looking in. The smoke and mirrors aren’t the same if you must turn the lights on to type up a review and make a deadline. Yet, we refuse to let go of the dream. For we love fashion—the smoke, the mirrors, the lot.

This season we put our obsession to the test and decided to attempt a new editorial stunt. We wanted to capture The Week, or at least some of its essence, through our own perspective. The result is a short editorial spread featuring some of our favourite looks this season shot on-site at Artitude Kunstverein, a former grain factory turned art space in Kreuzberg. To create our story, we toyed with the idea of glamour and its relationship to our home ground—Berlin. The main characters are looks from the latest collections from Michalsky, Rena Lange, DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGERS and Kaviar Gauche worn by the often polarising, always stunningly beautiful and extremely gracious Shermine Shahrivar and shot by our very own Maxime Ballesteros.

We experienced designers’ takes on their own collections. Now, here is ours.
