The week started off on the right foot with Michael Sontag’s flowy delight of a show. The carefully crafted loose silhouettes were a comforting reassurance of the designer’s skilful capabilities, sculpted mostly in silk. Colour was in Sontag’s mind when envisioning his women, putting them in bright, solid pink and yellow, stepping away from the monochromatic grey scales that often overwhelm the Berlin runways. A hint of Grecian inspiration was left as an after taste as models left the runway, adding an extra twist to Sontag’s SS12 plot. The show closed with a collective gasp as the last look–a flawless mustard gown–walked down the runway. And so our week begins.
