Camilla Norrback, who presented her chic city wear in the Made in Sweden designer showcase, coined the term “eco-luxury.” Designers following her lead were featured in the Green Showroom’s catwalk at the Adlon Hotel. Yet few fulfilled her promise of cute, ethically-produced items which function as reliable every-day standards. The most important element to ethical consumerism is limiting consumption. Norrback promotes this mentality by producing practical, but dynamic, day wear which is well-constructed and season-less. Her grey wool mini-dress featuring a ferret twisting its little body into a bow, is playful and precious without being too saccharine or trendy. Similarly, the emerald velvet catsuit that concluded the show was a statement of people expressing the wearer’s individuality and interest in investing in a long, green, future.
